Internet & Email Course Nepal — Digital School Nepal
03 Four weeks · for adults entering the digital workplace

Internet & Email Essentials.

The internet is most of your job now, whether you like it or not. In four weeks we teach you how to use it confidently and safely — professional email, Google Drive, video calls, and how to spot the scams before they spot you.

Course Overview

What this course actually teaches you.

The Internet & Email Essentials course is designed for adults who already know basic computer use but feel like they're guessing every time they go online. By the end of four weeks, you'll send and receive email confidently, use Google Drive to share documents, video-call on Zoom and Google Meet, and — crucially — know how to spot the scams, phishing emails, and fake offers that target Nepali users every day.

This is the course for the office worker whose company just moved everything to Google Workspace, the parent who needs to follow what their kid is doing online, the small business owner whose customers expect a professional email reply, and anyone who has avoided the internet because it felt overwhelming. We start practical and stay practical.

You will leave this course able to: compose, reply to, and organise professional email, send and receive attachments safely, use Google Drive and Google Docs for collaboration, join and host video calls, search the internet effectively, manage strong passwords, recognise the most common online scams, and shop and bank online without getting nervous about it.

PK
Pratima Khadka
Instructor — Digital Literacy

Pratima spent six years in customer support at a Kathmandu-based digital services company, answering exactly the questions this course is built to prevent. She has a Bachelor's degree in IT and is certified by Google for Education.

Her teaching approach is calm and practical. She doesn't make anyone feel stupid for not knowing what "the cloud" means — partly because, in her words, "the people who named it didn't make it any easier on you."

Frequently asked

Questions students ask before joining.

I already have email — do I really need this course?
If you only use email for basic personal messages, this course teaches you the professional side — proper structure, signatures, mail merge, labels, calendar integration. Most students who think they know email come out genuinely surprised at what they were missing.
Do you cover social media (Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp)?
Briefly. The course focuses on email, Google Workspace, and online safety because those are what most jobs and businesses need. We cover social media safety and privacy settings but not content creation or marketing — that's a separate course.
Will I learn online banking?
We cover how to use online banking safely and how to spot fake banking sites, but we don't teach you to use any specific bank's app — every bank is different and they change frequently. We give you the security principles to apply anywhere.
What language is the course in?
We teach in Nepali by default, with all technical terms (email, attachment, password) explained in English so you build the right vocabulary. Older students often appreciate the bilingual approach.
Is the certificate useful?
Yes — especially for office and administrative jobs. Many employers ask whether you can handle email and Google Workspace, and a completion certificate from a recognised institute is a clear yes.
What's included in the NPR 5,500 fee?
Tuition, lab access, all course materials, printed handouts, and your completion certificate. Sibling and group discounts apply — ask when you enroll.
